Our Laid-Back Weekend in Ensenada, Mexico

We now live in Denver, CO but spent most of your younger lives in southern California, thus a short weekend trip to Las Vegas or Ensenada were done quite often. One such weekend we headed down to Ensenada, which is a little city a couple of hours from the border, to enjoy a weekend reprieve. We took off Friday night after work and got there about 10:30 or 11:00. We finally found our hotel, The Days Inn, and unloaded the car. After we got settled, we headed to Papas & Beers.

Our Trip to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico

Looking for a way to stay cool while in New Mexico during the summer? One great suggestion is the Carlsbad Caverns. We did this one year and it was by far the best cave we have toured. The Cave is absolutely amazing, and it was only about 65 degrees . There are several tours you can take. Some are guided and some are just self-tour. We did the Natural Entrance Tour and the Big Room Tour. Continue reading “Our Trip to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico”

It was a little cold in February, but we still had a nice time. As I said on my previous blog post Amarillo by Morning, I was amazed with all the antique shops and stores. It definitely makes up the feel of the town. I really liked it. Continue reading “Route 66 in Amarillo, Texas – Not Just an Ordinary Street”

Amarillo by Morning – Amarillo, Texas

For Valentine’s Day 2015 we decided to check out the little town of Amarillo, TX. and drove throughout the night to get there on Valentines Day morning.  Hence, the title, Amarillo by Morning 🙂  Couldn’t resist. Anyway, it was a whirlwind two-night trip, but we had a wonderful time exploring a new city together. The first thing I noticed was the wind. It was crazy and it didn’t stop the whole time we were there. Other than that, it seemed like a nice little town. Much slower pace than here in Denver, but still has all the amenities anyone could need. I did notice a lot of banks for some reason, lol. Continue reading “Amarillo by Morning – Amarillo, Texas”

Don’t Miss Canyonlands National Park in Moab!

canyonlandsUnfortunately we did miss this park on a recent trip to Moab, Utah.  While visiting the area, we had wanted to do Arches National Park one day, and Canyonlands National Park the next day, however we quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen as Arches National Park was just too big. We were disappointed with our limited amount of time in Moab, but it did give us a great reason to come back. It will definitely be on our must see list the next time we are in the area. In the meantime, enjoy the information below about the park. Continue reading “Don’t Miss Canyonlands National Park in Moab!”
