Club Rio Lounge and Sports Bar – Moab, Utah

Club RioAfter doing a lot of hiking at Arches National Park, we were tried and ready to relax over dinner and a few beers. We ended up at Club Rio off Main Street.  I had read and heard a lot of good and bad things about this place, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We decided to check it out and figured we could leave it we didn’t like it. Not only did we like it, we had an awesome meal. I just had a hamburger and fries, which were fantastic, but Gene had a tempting brisket sandwich. We had heard that the BBQ was pretty good, and he wasn’t disappointed. I loved the seasoning on the fries and asked our server if she knew what was in it. She laughed and said the kitchen sink, lol. Whatever the mix was, it was tasty.

We both love to try different Micro-brew beers from whatever area we are in and both tried a couple local beers. They were pretty good, but nothing compared to some in Denver. This place was really nice and I felt bad for all the negative reviews I had read. The server said they used to be just a bar and the food wasn’t too good, but they are now a “club” and are hoping to change the perception of the place. Sadly, it seems like some people are set in their ways. If you are in the area, check them out! There are several pool tables, a dart board, and a few other games in the back. They even have live music and karaoke during the weekend to add to the fun. Sadly we were there on a Sunday night, but will have to go back on a Friday or Saturday the next time we are in Moab. We had a great meal at Club Rio and suggest you try it while in the area. Here is a link to their website. Happy travels.
