While in Twin Falls to see Shoshone Falls and Craters of the Moon National Monument, we had a great time trying new restaurants and having some real Idaho potatoes. We did eat of lot of breakfast and lunches while running around sightseeing, but always found new and exciting places to eat dinner. Below are a few that I thought we really enjoyed and would like to share.
Our first night we were a little tired from driving all day so we opted for something quick and easy. We ended up here and had a great meal. Gene got the French Dip (his stand by) and I got a build your own personal pan pizza. They were both very good. I would have liked mine a little more well done (I like everything burnt, lol) but it was good and we were tired and hungry. The staff was very nice and gave us some great information on what to do in the area and even a few ideas that aren’t in the guide books. So happy we stopped in here on our first night in town.
This is the jewel restaurant of Twin Falls and we went her for Gene’s birthday. We had one of the best dinner experiences of our trip here. This is an extremely classy restaurant where the servers are exceedingly attentive. I don’t think we had to ask for anything the whole time we were there. They were wonderful and couldn’t have been treated better. We both had steaks and they were done perfect (again, well done for me, lol). We loved them as well as our baked potatoes that we had to have of course. Besides steak they also have burgers, prime rib, seafood, sandwiches, and a salad bar. The staff was attentive and even gave us a free dessert for Gene’s birthday – the Cinnamon Roll Sundae. It was delicious! It was a perfect ending to our great meal. After dinner we stopped in the bar to have a quick drink to toast Gene’s birthday and thank the manager for an exceptional visit. We will definitely be back to this restaurant the next time we are in Twin Falls. No doubt about that.
One morning we decided to splurge and had breakfast at Idaho Joe’s. We had seen it many time while driving up and down Blue Lakes Blvd and it reminded us of Cracker Barrel. Figured it had to be good. We were right! It was very good. They serve a wide range of American favorites in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and their menu includes fresh-baked pies, homemade soups, and tasty sandwiches. If you need them to cater a private or holiday parties, or need a banquet room, they have the availability for that too. Gene had their signature skillet meal and I just had bacon and eggs, but they were both very good. We didn’t have room for any pie, but will have to next time. We heard they were really good. What we did think was really good was the seasoning they had on the table and for sale. It is called John’s Steak and Seasoning Spice, and made by Pickes Place in Arco. We liked it so much we even bought a container of it to bring home. It’s great on everything from eggs to steaks and everything in between. Sadly, we never made it for dinner, but we will the next time we are in the area for sure. I want to try their hamburgers.
This is a typical Mongolian grill stir fry restaurant where you pick the ingredients, they do the grilling, and you enjoy the best stir-fry you’ve ever had. There are millions of combinations you can make with vegetables, meats, sea food, nuts, sauces and noodles. Their staff is friendly but we had a server who was a little slow getting us rice, water and such. I think she was newer, so that may have been part of it. Luckily the staff on the grill we quick and we had a great meal. I would suggest this to others to try while in the area.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about some of the restaurants we enjoyed while in Twin Falls. Hope you get to try them someday while in the area.
