I am very excited to write and share this blog post. It is one I should have written a long time again, but we have been doing a bit of traveling 🙂 In the middle of July I had written this post called Our 4 Top Mongolian Grill Restaurants near Denver. We had a lot of fun trying out these wonderful restaurants and exploring their differences. One of these restaurants was BD’s Mongolian Grill in Downtown Denver, and it was the only one we had been to previously.
We love BD’s Mongolian Grill and were more than thrilled when I received an email inviting me to an upcoming #DenverBDsBlogNight media event . We were leaving the next day for New York, but decided what a great way to say goodbye to Colorado for a couple of weeks, lol. I am so glad we decided to go. It was AMAZING as always! Before I get into the event, I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to Kayla and Hayley for such a great event. I had only been blogging a couple of months at this point, and was so happy that someone had noticed my blog post and invited us to this event. It was a great feeling.
When we arrived at BD’s Mongolian Grill the night of the event we were welcomed by Hayley who handed us bag of goodies with some tickets to fill out for a chance to win a free wok, cards for a game we would play later. Once we were settled, servers were walking around offering us drinks, including a choice of 3 different types of Microbrews they serve. Not a bad start 🙂
After a little time to mingle, share our blogs and see some displays of their new items, we all set down for the formal presentation. Hayley spoke about the freshness of their ingredients and how important it is to them as a company. While she was doing this part of the presentation, we were served our first tasting of the pineapple and cashew fried rice with an egg on top. I wasn’t so sure how I would like this, but it was really quite tasty. I could definitely see myself enjoying this as a side to a meal.
Once we finished our rice they brought out the beef sliders. They were quite interesting and had a unique taste that I couldn’t quite decipher, but we both liked them. Not sure if I would order them though, we so many other things on the menu as well as the buffet. The spicy red sauce was really good with the homemade potato’s. It was mouthwatering, literally. lolWhile we were eating Hayley had us pull out the cards we received when we arrived and played a little game. As you can see they cards have the words Market Fresh, Experience, Selection and Value. She then asked us to rate them in the order of how we made decisions on where to eat. Mine are pictured in the order I chose. Do you agree?
One of the more surprising items that I enjoyed was their street tacos. We were given samples of their chicken and pork tacos. Both were both delicious, but the chicken ones were absolutely amazing! They were so crispy and full of flavor. I would definitely order these off the regular menu if I wasn’t eating off the buffet.
Speaking of the buffet, that was next part of the event. Servers gave us a bowl and we were able to make our own meal! Some people had never been and were needing a little direction, others grabbed our bowls and off we went 🙂 Being the BD’s Mongolian Grill experts that we are, we were more than happy to give some advice and suggestions 🙂
For those of you who haven’t been to a Mongolian restaurant before, a lot of them are buffet style, have food bars with lots of meat, veggies, and starches that you put into a bowl, then are cooked on a huge round grill by employees using swords. It is great, and you can have a lot of fun mixing and matching food, veggies, spices and sauces. After we were all done getting our bowls and eating, Hayley pulled the winner of the wok and let us eat and mingle until we were ready to leave. It was a great night and a great event. I was so excited and felt honored to be invited to this event. Again, I can’t think Kayla and Hayley for such an amazing evening at this event.
Many thanks to BD’s Mongolian Grill for putting on t his amazing event and letting us sample their new menu. As always, all opinions are my own.
