City of Vancouver Canada Information

VancouverWe are heading to Vancouver a month from tomorrow and I am looking forward to exploring this exciting city. I always like to do a little research on places we are going to try to maximize our time and see as much as we can see while there.   While doing my research, I learned a lot of information about Vancouver.  I decided to share this info and post a short little 10 question quiz to see how much you know.  Enjoy the info and good luck on the quiz! Vancouver - NightVancouver is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada; 52% of its residents have a first language other than English. The city encompasses a land area of about 114 square km, giving it a population density of about 5,249 people per square km (13,590 per square mi). With over 250,000 residents it is the most densely populated Canadian municipality, and the fourth most densely populated city in North America behind New York City, San Francisco and Mexico City.Vancouver Torch

I remember the Olympics being held in Vancouver and that area in 2010, but did not know that they have hosted many international conferences and events, including the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, UN Habitat I, Expo 86, the World Police and Fire Games in 1989 and 2009.Vancouver - Stanley ParkThey have quite a few amazing parks in Vancouver that I look forward to exploring. Of course the most famous one is Stanley Park. It is surrounded on three sides by the ocean and loomed over by the snow-capped North Shore Mountains. Many say the park’s perimeter seawall stroll is one of the best ways to spend your time. I know we plan on spending some time here. We won’t have any kids with us, but if you do, they will love the Stanley Park’s Children’s Farm, where they can pet peacocks, rabbits, calves, donkeys, and Shetland ponies. Sounds like fun for the whole family though, lol Vancouver - Stanley Park zooHope you enjoyed a little insight into the city of Vancouver.
