Take a Walk on the Suspension Bridge at Lynn Canyon Park, Vancouver

Lynn Canyon - SignOne of the main things I wanted to see and do while we were in Vancouver was checking out Lynn Canyon Park. This amazing park features a suspension bridge that sways 50 meters above the canyon. This was the attraction that had me wanting to visit and explore the park. The canyon also offers a selection of walking and hiking trails that connect to other parks in the region such as Lynn Headwaters, Rice Lake, and Inter River Park. It is huge and very beautiful.   Continue reading Take a Walk on the Suspension Bridge at Lynn Canyon Park, Vancouver

Safeco Field and The Seattle Mariners

Safeco -FrontWhile in Seattle to see the Microsoft Visitor Center, Boeing, Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and a few other attractions, we also visited Safeco Field to watch my Anaheim Angels take on the Settle Mariners. We had a great time and the Seattle Mariners employees and fans were great hosts. As a side note, I was very happy to visit the stadium as it represented my 18th ballpark and it was the last one I hadn’t seen west of the Mississippi. Getting closer to my goal of visiting all 30 parks!  Anyway, below is a little information about Safeco Field and the Seattle Mariners. Continue reading Safeco Field and The Seattle Mariners

The Vancouver Lookout Tower at Harbour Centre

harbour-centreWe just got back recently from Vancouver and had a great time. It was our anniversary so while we were there we decided to visit The Vancouver Lookout Tower at Harbour Centre. It was absolutely amazing. I know I say that a lot, but it really was.  It is the only place in Vancouver that you can enjoy a 360º aerial view of Vancouver. The best part was that it was an all-day ticket and we were able to go back later that evening after dinner.  Continue reading The Vancouver Lookout Tower at Harbour Centre

Stone Mountain and Laser Show in Atlanta, GA

Stone Mountain - FlagsOn a trip to Atlanta to see some friends and visit the World of Coca-Cola, we went to Stone Mountain. It was summer, so there were quite a few activities going on, including a laser light show in the evening.  For those of you who have not heard of Stone Mountain (I hadn’t before our trip), it is a major recreational in Atlanta, with 3,200 acres of wooded parkland and lakes. In the center of this massive park is an enduring monument to the Confederacy.  There is a carving on the huge monument which depicts three Confederate figures during the Civil War: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis.  . carved out by Gutzon Borglum, the same person who carved Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.  Thought that was pretty interesting. Casa Bonita – Entertainment in Lakewood, CO

Casa-Bonita - FrontWhen you talk to people about Casa Bonita in Lakewood, CO there are usually mixed reviews. However, it is still something everyone spending time in Colorado wants to experience at least once. My niece had heard of Casa Bonita from South Park, but had no idea that it was real. When she found out it was, she had to go. So after a day of playing at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, we stopped in for dinner on our way back.
