Wonderful Indoor Farmers Market at Hyatt Regency, Waikiki

Farmers Market One of the cool things about being at the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki is being able to enjoy the Farmers Market they hold every Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4-8 pm. We hit it right after watching the amazing Hula Show on Kuhio Beach. We should have gone earlier, as we only had an hour after the show. It still worked out well though. I was happy that they not only have great food, they also have craft tables. Continue reading “Wonderful Indoor Farmers Market at Hyatt Regency, Waikiki”

Breathtaking Red Sandstone Formations in Sedona, AZ

To say Sedona is beautiful or gorgeous is a huge understatement. It has to be one of the most exquisite places in the southwest. It’s something you have to see for yourself. The locals say there is magic in the handsome red-rocks, and I believe them. I was definitely smitten from the first time I saw them. We got there at night, so we didn’t get to see them until we woke up. What a site to wake up to. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I opened the room blinds.  We stayed at the Sedona Summit, which was part of our time share we had at the time. It is a quiet resort and everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately we only had two days there.  Continue reading “Breathtaking Red Sandstone Formations in Sedona, AZ”

DIA Has the Fastest Wi-Fi of all U.S. Airports

DIA - Faster Wi-FiWe are going to be flying a lot this year and it made me start thinking about all the time sitting in airports, and what we do with that time. Like most people we rely on the airports Wi-Fi and jump our laptop, phone or tablet to check email, update our Facebook status, Twitter feeds, or just web surf. It is a great way to spend some of the annoying and wasted time because of security.  Continue reading “DIA Has the Fastest Wi-Fi of all U.S. Airports”

Connecting with my Ancestral Roots in Dresden Tennessee

DresdenOur task today on the Ultimate Blog Challenge was to tell a story. I love writing and telling stores, so I was excited to do my post today. However, it also made me feel a little sad, as my grandma was very special and important to me. I will never stop missing her 🙁  However, today I want to a little tiny city in northwest Tennessee called Dresden. I shared a little bit of this story on my post   Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award  but I want to share more about our visit to the birthplace of my wonderful grandma, and the final resting place of her parents, my great grandparents.

Images From Around Beautiful Pensacola Beach, Florida

Pensacola Water Tower It has been quite cold here in Colorado lately and I am missing the warmth we had while in Hawaii. Sadly, we won’t be back to Hawaii for a little while, but we do have a trip to Florida coming this summer, so that will be nice. It made me start thinking about our last trip to Florida when we spent time part of a week playing in Pensacola.   Continue reading “Images From Around Beautiful Pensacola Beach, Florida”

Useful List of the 21 Missions in California

One of the 21 missionsLiving in California for the first part of my life, I was able to visit a few of the missions located in the southern part of the state.  All together there are 21, but many have been reconstructed after the ravages of time, weather, earthquakes and neglect. However, most of the missions still operate as active Catholic parishes, with regularly scheduled services. Booklets for self-guided tours are usually available. They are pretty cool to see.  Continue reading “Useful List of the 21 Missions in California”

Why I like the Movie Under the Tuscan Sun

Tuscan Sun Today’s task on the Ultimate Blog Challenge was to share our favorite movie. Well that is really hard to do as they are so many amazing movies out there. Even if I were break it down to just movies related to travel it would be hard. I started thinking about some of the greats: Lost in Translation, The Beach, Thelma and Louise, Seven Years in Tibet, Lawrence of Arabia, Wild, and the Bucket List. There are so many good ones. However one of my favorites has to be Under the Tuscan Sun which was filmed in beautiful Tuscany, Italy. Yes, I know it’s a chick movie (which is why I probably like it), but it is intriguing and inspiring. Continue reading “Why I like the Movie Under the Tuscan Sun”

Top 5 Memorable Places I Want to Visit Again

We have been blessed, and have been able to travel quite a bit. Not as much as we would like, but definitely more than a lot of people I know. No matter where we go, or how long we are there, it never seems to be enough time. I always leave sad and wanting more time to explore and learn to appreciate what the country, city or area has to offer. Sadly a week, or even two weeks is not enough. While we have traveled a lot, there have been a few places that grabbed me, and I find myself day-dreaming about being able to visit again one day.  Today, I want to visit these 5 cities and countries again.  There is so much more to see and do  🙂  Continue reading “Top 5 Memorable Places I Want to Visit Again”

Our Amazing Pineapple Experience at the Dole Plantation

While we were on Oahu we decided to do another local tourist thing and we visited the Dole Plantation. It was a lot different than what I was expecting. Then again, I guess I really didn’t know what to expect. What I was expecting was the beautiful scenery around the plantation. I wasn’t disappointed. Blogging is like a Diary for Adults

DiaryUltimate Blog Challenge Day 21 — I have always loved to write and like most little girls, it was in a pink little diary with a lock that only I had a key for. Little did it matter that my mom probably knew where the key was and would have been able to read anytime she wanted. I don’t know if she did or not, but at the time I felt safe writing down all my secrets, thoughts, dreams, frustrations, excitements, etc.  Continue reading “Blogging is like a Diary for Adults”
