Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour of Seattle

On our latest trip to Seattle we did an unusual tour, Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour.  It was something I would thought of it someone hadn’t mentioned it to me a few years back. I was surprised at how much fun we had exploring Seattle’s underground.  Continue reading “Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour of Seattle”

Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt House – Seattle, WA

Hyatt House As a Hyatt reward member, we have stayed at a few resorts in their brand, but had never stayed at a Hyatt House until last weekend. We had a phenomenal stay at one of their newer resorts, the Hyatt House, Downtown Seattle.  We were in Seattle to celebrate a belated Valentine’s day celebration, and it was a perfect location as it was literally across the street from the iconic Space Needle.     Continue reading “Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt House – Seattle, WA”

Our Traveling Blog Photos from Lovely Downtown Seattle

We just got back from Seattle and had a great time (minus still being treated like crap at security even though we paid for TSA pre-check, but sadly that’s a different issue) even though it rained most of the time we were there.  We stayed at the Hyatt House in downtown and took advantage of the free shuttle which took guests to various spots in downtown within a mile of the city.  Today I wanted to share some of these pictures we took while in the area. The Big Texan Steak Ranch – Home of the 72oz Steak

We just recently celebrated Valentines’ day and it made me start thinking about some of the Valentines celebration in the past. Since Gene was working nights for quite a few years we tried to take a 3-day weekend somewhere to just get away and enjoy some time together. One year, we spent three days in Amarillo and had a blast. Dinner on Valentines found us at the Big Texan Steak Ranch.  Continue reading “The Big Texan Steak Ranch – Home of the 72oz Steak”

Miller Park – Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Welcome to Miller Park!

Miller ParkMilwaukee was buzzing with excitement on Opening Day April 6, 2001, as Miller Park was officially open for business.  More than a decade of planning and four and a half years of construction culminated into the Brewers’ new state-of-the-art home. The signature fan-shaped convertible roof, a color replay board measuring 48 feet wide and 37 feet tall on top of a matrix scoreboard measuring 76-feet by 32-feet, and four choices of front-row seats on four different levels.  Continue reading “Miller Park – Milwaukee, Wisconsin”

10 Smart Things to Pack in Your Carry-On

My husband and I have been traveling for many years and have learned a lot of things about flying, and packing for flights. Some of things we have learned through our own experience (good and bad), as well as listening to other travelers horror stories. While we can’t do anything about airlines delays or issues, we can at least try to be prepared as best we can for these inconveniences. This all starts with making sure you pack a small carry-on bag, even if it is for a short non-stop flight. Continue reading “10 Smart Things to Pack in Your Carry-On”

Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial Brought up Many Emotions

On our recent trip to Oahu we were able to see the USS Arizona Memorial and pay respect to those lives lost on Pearl Harbor Dec 7th, 1941.  It was so surreal and an experience that I will never forget.  I am glad we were able to make it, especially after it had to be rescheduled due to Obama and the Prime Minister touring the memorial the same day as we were scheduled. Just our luck, lol. But it worked out and we were able to visit the day before.  Continue reading “Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial Brought up Many Emotions”

Win a Seattle Souvenir For Your Loved One

SeattleIt is officially February, which.means it is the month of love. This year we are going to delay our Valentine’s Day celebration until the weekend after Valentine’s since it’s in the middle of the week. Plus we can have a 3-day weekend due to the Presidents Day holiday, Yay!  We decided to head back to Seattle and see a few of the things we didn’t get to do while we were there to see such attractions as the Space Needle, Safeco Field, Pike Place Market, and the State Capitol Building in Olympia.  Continue reading “Win a Seattle Souvenir For Your Loved One”
