Stone Mountain and Laser Show in Atlanta, GA

Stone Mountain - FlagsOn a trip to Atlanta to see some friends and visit the World of Coca-Cola, we went to Stone Mountain. It was summer, so there were quite a few activities going on, including a laser light show in the evening.  For those of you who have not heard of Stone Mountain (I hadn’t before our trip), it is a major recreational in Atlanta, with 3,200 acres of wooded parkland and lakes. In the center of this massive park is an enduring monument to the Confederacy.  There is a carving on the huge monument which depicts three Confederate figures during the Civil War: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis.  . carved out by Gutzon Borglum, the same person who carved Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.  Thought that was pretty interesting. Orlando is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, and one of the biggest attractions of course is Disney World. This is only one reason why thousands of people flock to Orlando yearly. Merry Christmas from Knott’s Merry Farm

Knott's Merry Farm SignThere are a few things I miss about living in California (besides my family and friends of course) such as the beach, watching my Angels, and going to my favorite amusement park Knott’s Berry Farm. It has always had a pull to me, and I still love it. I miss being able to go to such things like Knott’s Scary Farm in October and Knott’s Merry Farm in December.  It has been too many years since we have done this. Knott’s Scary Farm – Halloween Tradition in CA

Knott's Scary FarmMy favorite amusement park is Knott’s Berry Farm in California, and one of October’s best things to do is spend an evening at their annual Knott’s Scary Farm. According to Knott’s, it all began in September of 1973. The park was getting rid of Gypsy Camp, and between the marketing and entertainment departments, they introduced a new concept–a Halloween-themed event for the evenings of October 26 to 28.
