Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt House – Seattle, WA

Hyatt House As a Hyatt reward member, we have stayed at a few resorts in their brand, but had never stayed at a Hyatt House until last weekend. We had a phenomenal stay at one of their newer resorts, the Hyatt House, Downtown Seattle.  We were in Seattle to celebrate a belated Valentine’s day celebration, and it was a perfect location as it was literally across the street from the iconic Space Needle.     Continue reading “Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt House – Seattle, WA”

Wonderful Indoor Farmers Market at Hyatt Regency, Waikiki

Farmers Market One of the cool things about being at the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki is being able to enjoy the Farmers Market they hold every Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4-8 pm. We hit it right after watching the amazing Hula Show on Kuhio Beach. We should have gone earlier, as we only had an hour after the show. It still worked out well though. I was happy that they not only have great food, they also have craft tables. Continue reading “Wonderful Indoor Farmers Market at Hyatt Regency, Waikiki”

Hilton Hawaiian Village Fireworks and Rainbow Tower

Hilton Hawaiian VillageIn an earlier Ultimate Blog Challenge post this month I shared our experience at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and today I wanted to share a little about the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  We did not stay here, nor sadly did we even step inside of the hotel.  We visited the hotel for two interesting reasons.   Continue reading “Hilton Hawaiian Village Fireworks and Rainbow Tower”

Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort, Oahu

As Hyatt Reward members we have stayed at a few Hyatt locations, however, none of them have been as nice as the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa. It is located on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, and has to be one of the most incredible hotels in the Hyatt Brand.  The Aloha Spirit was evident as soon as I walked into the hotel and headed toward the front desk.  I had at least 3 employees nod at me, say hi, and one of them offered me a drink of water or pineapple Iced Tea. It was very tasty.  Continue reading “Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort, Oahu”

Hyatt Resorts – Andaz 5th Ave in Manhattan, New York

andaz-frontEarly last year we joined the Hyatt Reward program and have enjoyed using it a few times. Just for signing up we received two free nights, which was great. After some debate, we decided to use them in one of the most exciting places, NYC. While in NY, we spent two amazing nights at the Andaz on 5th Avenue right across from the Stephen Schwarzman Liibrary. While we have stayed at three different properties since we joined their program, and found each one wonderful and quite unique, there was just something special about the Andaz.   Continue reading “Hyatt Resorts – Andaz 5th Ave in Manhattan, New York”

Hyatt Resorts – Grand Hyatt in Denver, CO

Grand Hyatt - EntranceAs I stated on my post about on the Hyatt Regency, we joined their reward program and have visited a few hotels since then. Top 7 Wheelchair Accessible Cities in the U.S.

wheelchair 3We just recently returned from a trip to CA and booked a hotel room on our last night in town to be closer to the airport (wonderful CA traffic and all, lol). Not sure how it happened, but somehow we ended up with a wheelchair accessible room. Didn’t realize it until we checked as it was a hotel with suites and I thought maybe we had just gotten a free update since we checked in after 11. I did like the fact that it had a removable shower head and handrails. I am short, so it was nice to be able to use the removable shower head instead of trying to fight with a standard shower head that I can never reach  🙁  I also liked that the bathroom was a little bigger than a standard room. Again, I thought it was just because it was a suite room. Continue reading “Top 7 Wheelchair Accessible Cities in the U.S.”

Lake Havasu Lighthouse Replicas – Part 1

Lake HavasuLake Havasu currently claims the title of “the city with most lighthouses in America,” and thanks to the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club, Arizona someday could surpass Michigan as the state with the most lighthouses. Arizona? Really? In the middle of the desert is not a place you would think of when you think of lighthouses.  However, if you have been to Lake Havasu you may have seen the 24 replica of famous lighthouses from the East Coast, West Coast and the Great Lakes area. I have been there a few times and have seen many of these  1/3 scale replicas. They are intriguing, thus I decided to explore these lighthouses and learn a little bit about the originals.  This is a 3-part series so please come back soon to see part 2 and part 3. There’s Plenty to See and to Do in Laughlin, Nevada

LaughlinI lived most of my life in Southern California and spent many weekend in Las Vegas. As much fun as Vegas is, it can be really expensive and really crowded. I am not much of a crowd person, so I much rather head to Laughlin to gamble and spend a long weekend. Continue reading “There’s Plenty to See and to Do in Laughlin, Nevada”
