Happy National High Five Day – April 20th

National High Five Day Hello everyone. Today I want to step away from my normal travel blog post and share something related to my other passion, sports.  When people think about 4/20 and what it represents, they may not realize or think that it’s also National High Five day. Did you know that? I didn’t, but apparently it is. Since I didn’t know much about its origination, I decided to do a little research and share this info in a post. There are many origin stories of the high five, but the two most documented candidates are Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Wiley Brown and Derek Smith of the Louisville Cardinals.  Continue reading Happy National High Five Day – April 20th

Never Give Up Hope! Perseverance Is Vital!

HopeToday I wanted to share how I was felling over the weekend as I look at going back to work on Monday. I am thankful and blessed for my job, and I enjoy what I do (thank you to my co-workers for the appreciation). However, I do have some bigger dreams and they aren’t in a cube surrounded by other people in cubes. I want to explore the world and see what else is out there to see. I created this blog mostly for fun, but it has made my sense of wanderlust much worse, lol. I can only keep plugging away at my dreams, and hope that one day they will come true. Trade a Minute of Your Time For a Colorado Souvenir

I have been blogging for over a year and a half now and  have enjoyed sharing our stories and experiences as we travel all over the US, Canada, Europe and Mexico. As much as I write my blog as a way to relive our trips, I write it for  you, my readers. I write it hoping that you will glean some information, maybe relive a memory, or intrigue you enough to plan  your own experience. I have tried to keep it diverse and share more than just our experiences. Monday through Friday I share travel news and specials around the world, as well as travel tips. I hope you enjoy these posts, and I want to keep my blog fresh and interesting. Thus said, I would like to ask if you could take a quick minute or less to complete the quick 3 question survey to see what you guys think, and to see what other types of stores you would like to see.

As a thank you, anyone who takes the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a Colorado souvenir. Simply complete the short survey then place a comment below to let me know you completed the survey.  I will respond and let you know  you are entered into the raffle.  I will keep the raffle open until Sunday April 16th at midnight EST.

Thank you in advance for your time and participation in my short survey which can help me make my blog better for you, my readers. Good luck and happy travels.

Robin Williams – The Man Who Gave So Much To So Many People

Robin Williams has been gone since August of 2014, but I still find it hard to believe he is gone. Every now and then I will be scrolling through on the tv remote and come across a movie or something he was in and it give me a moment of both sadness and happiness. Such an incident happened yesterday when I happened to come across and episode of Mork and Mindy. Found myself watching them rest of it laughing at the antics that was Robin Williams. Thus I decided to share a post about his and how he has touched us through the years. Continue reading Robin Williams – The Man Who Gave So Much To So Many People

Save Money on Flights by Clearing Browser Cookies

In today’s age of technology we are booking flights and flying across the county at increasing rates. With the summer season upon us, ticket prices will also be increasing. However, there are still a few tricks to  try to get the cheapest tickets available be flying certain times or certain days. You can read my post Best Time to Book Airline Tickets. However there is another trick that a lot of people may not know, and it’s pretty simple. It’s called clearing your cookies. Top 4 Destinations on Our 20th Anniversary List

I am having a major case of wanderlust and can’t help day dreaming about our 20th wedding anniversary next year. We have some trip planned for almost every month this year, but I can’t stop thinking about spending two weeks in Europe somewhere next May. We are going to use miles, so I can’t actually start looking until June (they start booking 11 months out). This might be part of the issue, as I keep thinking of places on our bucket list, then I read a post, or blog about another amazing place, and now it’s in the mix, lol. But we have narrowed it down to the top 4 places that are on the top of our list. Continue reading Top 4 Destinations on Our 20th Anniversary List

Travel Vaccinations – Worth the Hassle and Expense?

I am looking forward to visiting Thailand and a few others places in Southeast Asia one day, and it made me think about what shots if any are suggested or required before visiting. After doing some research it looks like I am good to go, with a few suggestions.  There are a lot of questions about vaccinations, however this doesn’t only apply to travel. We have friends who had never vaccinated their child who was turning 5 and getting ready to go to school. I don’t know how it all worked out, as they moved out of state. However I don’t think people are able to get around the “medical reasons” or religious reasons anymore. I may be wrong, but it won’t work when trying to travel. Thus I wanted to share this post about getting or not getting vaccinated before traveling to certain countries. Continue reading Travel Vaccinations – Worth the Hassle and Expense?

Hello Spring and the April Ultimate Blog Challenge

April Hope you are enjoying spring so far. I like Fall the best, but spring is a close second 🙂   Earlier this year I took part in the January Blog Challenge and had a good time. For those of you who are not familiar with the Ultimate Blog Challenge (UBC), it is a virtual event for bloggers held every quarter with a goal for bloggers to write a new blog post every day during the challenge month.  I posted 28 days out of 31 as I was still on vacation until the 3rd. However I made it the rest of the month, and felt very good. Thus I have decided to do the April Ultimate Blog Challenge. Thus I will be sharing a post every day for the next 30 days! It seems like a lot, but I know I can do it if I stay focused and set goals. Continue reading Hello Spring and the April Ultimate Blog Challenge

An Emotional Pilgrimage Shared in the Movie – – “The Way.”

The WayLast night Gene and I finally had a chance to watch the movie The Way. I had heard it was very good, and we weren’t disappointed. Then again, I shouldn’t have been surprised. It was written and directed by Emilio Estevez, and starred his father Martin Sheen. Emilio also starred as Daniel, the recently deceased son of Martin Sheen’s character named Tom.
