Top 5 Memorable Places I Want to Visit Again

We have been blessed, and have been able to travel quite a bit. Not as much as we would like, but definitely more than a lot of people I know. No matter where we go, or how long we are there, it never seems to be enough time. I always leave sad and wanting more time to explore and learn to appreciate what the country, city or area has to offer. Sadly a week, or even two weeks is not enough. While we have traveled a lot, there have been a few places that grabbed me, and I find myself day-dreaming about being able to visit again one day.  Today, I want to visit these 5 cities and countries again.  There is so much more to see and do  🙂  Continue reading “Top 5 Memorable Places I Want to Visit Again”

Adorable Tiny Dolls at American Girl Place, Manhattan

agp-bldgThe word press word for the day is tiny. My immediate thought for some reason was the miniature dolls we saw at the American Girl Place. We checked out their amazing store when we were in Manhattan last year. Not sure why my thoughts went there, expect maybe that my niece just had a baby and she looks like a tiny little doll. Then again, I am probably bias, lol. Either way, I thought about these little 18 inch dolls and decided to share our experience. Hyatt Resorts – Andaz 5th Ave in Manhattan, New York

andaz-frontEarly last year we joined the Hyatt Reward program and have enjoyed using it a few times. Just for signing up we received two free nights, which was great. After some debate, we decided to use them in one of the most exciting places, NYC. While in NY, we spent two amazing nights at the Andaz on 5th Avenue right across from the Stephen Schwarzman Liibrary. While we have stayed at three different properties since we joined their program, and found each one wonderful and quite unique, there was just something special about the Andaz.   Continue reading “Hyatt Resorts – Andaz 5th Ave in Manhattan, New York”

Serendipity 3 – Upper East Side, NY

While in New York City we ate a quite a few nice restaurants, but there was one that I really had wanted to visit while in the city, Serendipity 3. Empire State Building – The Experience

Late last year we visited New York City for the first time and it was amazing. I absolutely fell in love with the city. One of the best days in New York was spent running around Midtown with Karen, one of the customers of the company I worked at until 2009. It was a blast, and we couldn’t have had a better today. However, nothing compared to the phenomenal views atop the Empire State Building. The only thing that even comes close to this would be the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It was definitely an experience. I will share our t our visit in a moment, but I would like to tell you a little about the building itself first. Continue reading “Empire State Building – The Experience”

Central ParkDesignated a National Historic Landmark in 1962, it is this most visited urban park in the United States. Central Park receives approximately 35 million visitors annually and is one of the most filmed locations in the world. I was so glad that we were going to New York in the fall, as I was hoping to have a “When Harry Met Sally” moment, but it wasn’t as “fallish” as I was thinking it might be. Our Amazing visit to Rockefeller Center, Manhattan

Rockefeller CenterWe recently got back from a trip to New York City and finally saw Rockefeller Center and Plaza, as well as the Skating Rink. It was a little too early for the Christmas tree, but it was still incredible. What I didn’t realize was how large the area is. It is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, spanning the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue and is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres.  I also didn’t know that it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. St Patricks Cathedral, New York

St Patricks cathedral bldgWhile running around Midtown one day we ended up near St Patricks Cathedral. It is a decorated Neo-Gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral church in the United States and a prominent landmark of New York City. One of my aunts, and my best friend, are both Catholic, and I have been to Mass with both of them at several different churches. However, I have never have I been in one as grand as this. To say it is gorgeous would be an understatement. It is absolutely stunning. Continue reading “St Patricks Cathedral, New York”
