OdySea Aquarium, Phoenix – An Oceanic Adventure

My niece Alex and I had an incredible time in the Phoenix area, especially our visit to the OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale. It is wonderful and full of wonder. 🙂  Neither of us had been there, so I did a little research on their website before we left and found out about their prices, hours, etc. I was excited when I read about all their exhibits. Phoenix in the Distance – Amazing South Mountain Park

I recently got back from spending a few incredible days in Arizona exploring the Phoenix area with my niece Alex. It was our first trip together, and we had a blast. We had so much fun doing such things as the OdySea Aquarium, and the Open Air Market, that we planned another trip together next year, lol.  Anyway, while in the Phoenix area we were able to visit beautiful South Mountain Park. Apparently it is the largest municipal park in the United States, and is one of the largest urban parks in North America. It has been designated as a Phoenix Point of Pride.  Continue reading Phoenix in the Distance – Amazing South Mountain Park

Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour of Seattle

On our latest trip to Seattle we did an unusual tour, Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour.  It was something I would thought of it someone hadn’t mentioned it to me a few years back. I was surprised at how much fun we had exploring Seattle’s underground.  Continue reading Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour of Seattle

Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt House – Seattle, WA

Hyatt House As a Hyatt reward member, we have stayed at a few resorts in their brand, but had never stayed at a Hyatt House until last weekend. We had a phenomenal stay at one of their newer resorts, the Hyatt House, Downtown Seattle.  We were in Seattle to celebrate a belated Valentine’s day celebration, and it was a perfect location as it was literally across the street from the iconic Space Needle.     Continue reading Hyatt Resorts – Hyatt House – Seattle, WA

Our Traveling Blog Photos from Lovely Downtown Seattle

We just got back from Seattle and had a great time (minus still being treated like crap at security even though we paid for TSA pre-check, but sadly that’s a different issue) even though it rained most of the time we were there.  We stayed at the Hyatt House in downtown and took advantage of the free shuttle which took guests to various spots in downtown within a mile of the city.  Today I wanted to share some of these pictures we took while in the area. The Big Texan Steak Ranch – Home of the 72oz Steak

We just recently celebrated Valentines’ day and it made me start thinking about some of the Valentines celebration in the past. Since Gene was working nights for quite a few years we tried to take a 3-day weekend somewhere to just get away and enjoy some time together. One year, we spent three days in Amarillo and had a blast. Dinner on Valentines found us at the Big Texan Steak Ranch.  Continue reading The Big Texan Steak Ranch – Home of the 72oz Steak

Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial Brought up Many Emotions

On our recent trip to Oahu we were able to see the USS Arizona Memorial and pay respect to those lives lost on Pearl Harbor Dec 7th, 1941.  It was so surreal and an experience that I will never forget.  I am glad we were able to make it, especially after it had to be rescheduled due to Obama and the Prime Minister touring the memorial the same day as we were scheduled. Just our luck, lol. But it worked out and we were able to visit the day before.  Continue reading Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial Brought up Many Emotions

Win a Seattle Souvenir For Your Loved One

SeattleIt is officially February, which.means it is the month of love. This year we are going to delay our Valentine’s Day celebration until the weekend after Valentine’s since it’s in the middle of the week. Plus we can have a 3-day weekend due to the Presidents Day holiday, Yay!  We decided to head back to Seattle and see a few of the things we didn’t get to do while we were there to see such attractions as the Space Needle, Safeco Field, Pike Place Market, and the State Capitol Building in Olympia.  Continue reading Win a Seattle Souvenir For Your Loved One

Wonderful Indoor Farmers Market at Hyatt Regency, Waikiki

Farmers Market One of the cool things about being at the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki is being able to enjoy the Farmers Market they hold every Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4-8 pm. We hit it right after watching the amazing Hula Show on Kuhio Beach. We should have gone earlier, as we only had an hour after the show. It still worked out well though. I was happy that they not only have great food, they also have craft tables. Continue reading Wonderful Indoor Farmers Market at Hyatt Regency, Waikiki

Breathtaking Red Sandstone Formations in Sedona, AZ

Sedona To say Sedona is beautiful or gorgeous is a huge understatement. It has to be one of the most exquisite places in the southwest. It’s something you have to see for yourself. The locals say there is magic in the handsome red-rocks, and I believe them. I was definitely smitten from the first time I saw them. We got there at night, so we didn’t get to see them until we woke up. What a site to wake up to. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I opened the room blinds.  We stayed at the Sedona Summit, which was part of our time share we had at the time. It is a quiet resort and everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately we only had two days there.  Continue reading Breathtaking Red Sandstone Formations in Sedona, AZ
