While on a fall trip to take a ride on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, we took a short ride to check out Mesa Verde National Park. The park has some of the best preserved Ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites in the United States. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we decided to visit, but it was definitely more interesting than I have envisioned. Continue reading Step Back in Time at the Mesa Verde National Park – Colorado
I have been blogging for over a year and a half now and have enjoyed sharing our stories and experiences as we travel all over the US, Canada, Europe and Mexico. As much as I write my blog as a way to relive our trips, I write it for you, my readers. I write it hoping that you will glean some information, maybe relive a memory, or intrigue you enough to plan your own experience. I have tried to keep it diverse and share more than just our experiences. Monday through Friday I share travel news and specials around the world, as well as travel tips. I hope you enjoy these posts, and I want to keep my blog fresh and interesting. Thus said, I would like to ask if you could take a quick minute or less to complete the quick 3 question survey to see what you guys think, and to see what other types of stores you would like to see.
As a thank you, anyone who takes the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a Colorado souvenir. Simply complete the short survey then place a comment below to let me know you completed the survey. I will respond and let you know you are entered into the raffle. I will keep the raffle open until Sunday April 16th at midnight EST.
Thank you in advance for your time and participation in my short survey which can help me make my blog better for you, my readers. Good luck and happy travels.

Hello everyone and welcome to 2017! Hope you all had a fun and exciting New Year’s. I am starting out the year doing the Ultimate Blog Challenge, but more on that in a minute. As far as our end of 2016, we did something we had never done, and spent Christmas on the beautiful island of Oahu. New Year’s Eve we spent on the beach in Waikiki, talking to a couple from New Zealand and watching fireworks on the water at midnight. It was phenomenal. An incredible way to ring in a new year! The weather in Colorado had been unseasonably warm during November, thus my Gene and I decided to take advantage of the calm weather and took a little road trip. We ended up visiting the Dillon Reservoir and Loveland Pass on the Continental Divide. For those of you who don’t know, I wanted to share that Loveland Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 11,990 feet in the Rocky Mountains of north-central Colorado. The pass is named for William A.H. Loveland, the president of the Colorado Central Railroad and a resident of Golden during the late 19th century. There is nothing like a train trip, except a scenic fall train trip in October for your birthday. Gene and I went to Durango, CO one year and took a train trip on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. It was phenomenal and breathtaking. I couldn’t believe the amazing views around every turn. The best part was that the tickets were a gift from a customer at my former company. That just made it even sweeter. My niece had heard of Casa Bonita from South Park, but had no idea that it was real. When she found out it was, she had to go. So after a day of playing at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, we stopped in for dinner on our way back. Continue reading Casa Bonita – Entertainment in Lakewood, CO

As the world flocks to coffee houses every morning like their lives depend on it, I am heading for my cup of tea. I am not a coffee drinker, but I understand that some people can’t function in the morning until there first cup. I just never acquired the taste I guess. But I have grown a fond liking of Celestial Seasonings teas, here in Boulder, Colorado, especially the Peppermint and Mint Magic, yum. Continue reading Celestial Seasonings – True to Their Roots
