Hello Spring and the April Ultimate Blog Challenge

April Hope you are enjoying spring so far. I like Fall the best, but spring is a close second 🙂   Earlier this year I took part in the January Blog Challenge and had a good time. For those of you who are not familiar with the Ultimate Blog Challenge (UBC), it is a virtual event for bloggers held every quarter with a goal for bloggers to write a new blog post every day during the challenge month.  I posted 28 days out of 31 as I was still on vacation until the 3rd. However I made it the rest of the month, and felt very good. Thus I have decided to do the April Ultimate Blog Challenge. Thus I will be sharing a post every day for the next 30 days! It seems like a lot, but I know I can do it if I stay focused and set goals. Continue reading Hello Spring and the April Ultimate Blog Challenge

Images From Around Beautiful Pensacola Beach, Florida

Pensacola Water Tower It has been quite cold here in Colorado lately and I am missing the warmth we had while in Hawaii. Sadly, we won’t be back to Hawaii for a little while, but we do have a trip to Florida coming this summer, so that will be nice. It made me start thinking about our last trip to Florida when we spent time part of a week playing in Pensacola.   Continue reading Images From Around Beautiful Pensacola Beach, Florida

Welcome to 2017 and My Ultimate Blog Challenge!

Ultimate Blog ChallengeHello everyone and welcome to 2017! Hope you all had a fun and exciting New Year’s. I am starting out the year doing the Ultimate Blog Challenge, but more on that in a minute. As far as our end of 2016, we did something we had never done, and spent Christmas on the beautiful island of Oahu.  New Year’s Eve we spent on the beach in Waikiki, talking to a couple from New Zealand and watching fireworks on the water at midnight. It was phenomenal. An incredible way to ring in a new year! Continue reading Welcome to 2017 and My Ultimate Blog Challenge!

St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum – Florida

St. Augustine Lighthouse I have been intrigued by lighthouses for a long time, thus I was very happy to be able to go and see the St. Augustine Lighthouse when we were in Northern Florida.  The St. Augustine Lighthouse is located on the north end of Anastasia Island, was built in 1874, and is the most recent of a number of towers built in the area. It is truly incredible.   Continue reading St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum – Florida

The Salvador Dalí Museum – St. Petersburg, Florida

Salvador Dali - FrontOne a trip to St. Petersburg/Tampa, one of my favorite cities in Florida, we visited the Salvador Dali Museum. For those of you who are not familiar with Dali, he has been called The man, The master, and The marvel. Whatever you called him, he was a surrealist artist who was born in Figueres, Spain, on May 11, 1904. He always took great risks and proved how rich the world can be when you dare to embrace pure, boundless creativity. Continue reading The Salvador Dalí Museum – St. Petersburg, Florida

Florida State Capitol Building – The Sunshine State

FL Captiol FrontA wonderful trip to the panhandle of Florida, lead us to stop in Tallahassee to tour the Florida State Capitol. It is an architecturally and historically significant building, having been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. What we found interesting is that there are actually two buildings. We eagerly decided to tour both, if we could. When we arrived, we found out that they do have guided tours, but we missed the last one for the day, but were able to pick up a self-guided tour brochure and found our way around this amazing capitol building.
