Useful List of the 21 Missions in California

One of the 21 missionsLiving in California for the first part of my life, I was able to visit a few of the missions located in the southern part of the state.  All together there are 21, but many have been reconstructed after the ravages of time, weather, earthquakes and neglect. However, most of the missions still operate as active Catholic parishes, with regularly scheduled services. Booklets for self-guided tours are usually available. Remarkable Views from Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California

Illustrious Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco, CA

Golden Gate 1I have said this on a few posts, but I love bridges! My latest bridge post was  Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida. Today I take you to the Bay area of California to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.  This iconic bridge, according to Frommers travel guide, is described as possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed bridge in the world. Jelly Belly Factory Tour – Fairfield, CA

Jelly Belly EntranceWhile on a trip to San Francisco we decided to venture a little bit out of the city and went to visit the Budweiser Brewery and the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield. It’s about an hour outside of San Francisco and we decided to do both tours in one day. We have been to a lot of brewery and winery tours, but the Jelly Belly tour was very unique and something we were very glad we took the time to visit.
