On my last post I shared some of our visit to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Canon City. It was a spectacular visit. Here is a link to Part 1 in case you missed it. I ended that post after watching the video in the Plaza Theater. I left the theater sad, but glad that no one was hurt during the fire that destroyed much of that park. Happily the park was able to reopen after much clean up, planning, planting, and rebuilding. I don’t know what it was like before the fire, but it is a beautiful park today. We eventually made our way to the bridge after stopping to check out the Entertainment Stage. I was so excited to start walking across the bridge. We have been on a few suspension bridges in the past, but not one with such amazing views no matter which way you looked. Continue reading “Royal Gorge Bridge & Park – Our Thrilling Visit Part 2”
One of the main things I wanted to see and do while we were in Vancouver was checking out Lynn Canyon Park. This amazing park features a suspension bridge that sways 50 meters above the canyon. This was the attraction that had me wanting to visit and explore the park. The canyon also offers a selection of walking and hiking trails that connect to other parks in the region such as Lynn Headwaters, Rice Lake, and Inter River Park. It is huge and very beautiful. The contest is now over and we have a WINNER!!! Thank you to all who entered.
Two weeks from tomorrow we are heading to the amazing city of Vancouver in Canada. I am looking forward to exploring and see what this city has to offer. However, Vancouver is an expensive city so I decided to do a little searching for some of the free activities in the area. I also wanted to share the fun with you, my readers. Details on the raffle and how to win a free Vancouver souvenir are below. As soon as we return home I am going to do several posts about our trip, but until then, here are some free activities that I found to keep us busy while exploring. 🙂 Continue reading “Win a Souvenir from our Upcoming Trip to Vancouver”
I have said this on a few posts, but I love bridges! My latest bridge post was Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Florida. Today I take you to the Bay area of California to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. This iconic bridge, according to Frommers travel guide, is described as possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed bridge in the world. I have to agree, that it is quite amazing.
